Games Village Preparations Underway

In November 2018, Faleula Methodist Compound was announced as the Games Village. The compound will accommodate for the 4,000+ Athletes and Team Officials expected for the Samoa 2019 Pacific Games.

With the games fast approaching, the Games Organising Committee through the Pacific Games Office has been working alongside the Methodist Church to prepare the Games Village. 

Location

Sitting on a beautiful half of a square kilometre, the Games Village is just 15 minutes when driving from the main competition venues and downtown Apia. The Village is comprised of three schools, a large church and 50+ buildings and houses. Owned by the Methodist Church of Samoa, the Faleula Compound will house all team athletes and officials during the games.

Breakfast

Breakfast will be served at the Games Village for the duration of the Games and a variety of services such as laundry, banking services will be offered at the Athlete Center on campus. 

Sleeping Accommodation:

Athletes and Team Officials will each have their own bed and sleeping arrangements will be in a combination of houses and classrooms. Each country will be allocated a house that can serve as a central hub for their delegation. The houses and classrooms have a combination of built-in toilets and shower facilities and out-buildings.

Chef de Mission Office Space

Each team’s CDM will have access to a classroom that will be outfitted as an office, should the CDM want to utilize such a space.

Services

The Faleula Games Village will feature many services for Athletes and Team Officials.  There will be laundry, banking services, merchandise, a convenience store and other services in the Athlete Center on the campus.

Transport

Due to the size of the compound, there will be an internal shuttle for athletes and technical officials to access the various areas within the Games Village.  This shuttle will run during the entire official games period.

Opening and Closing dates for Village

The Games Village will be open from Thursday 4 July - Monday 22 July 2019 after the Games conclude.
